Optifast bars

I am going to continue substituting one to two meals for the foreseeable future since I am aware that it complements my lifestyle of working from home and enables me to conveniently grab a lunch on the run. It works well with the goal of continuing to prepare and enjoy nutritious meals in the evening.

Would you want to find out whether the diet is right for you? You may find out which of Optifast’s programmes are accessible to you by using the BMI calculator on their website. Compare them to the things you want to accomplish and the way you live.

If you currently have a good body mass index, Optifast does not suggest that you participate in a weight reduction programme. When you place a purchase, be sure to include the discount code that can be found at the bottom of this page.

Can you explain how the Optifast plans work?

You have the option of replacing one meal per day, two meals per day, or all of your food altogether depending on your objectives, your body mass index (BMI), and your personal tastes. There are three primary approaches to weight reduction, in addition to a strategy for ongoing maintenance.

The 6-week plan

The “6-week plan” may be broken down into three distinct stages if you follow it.

The first strategy calls for you to consume just four different Optifast products each day in place of all of your meals and snacks. You would consume nothing but these items for the next three weeks.

During the following three weeks, you will progressively add nutritious meals based on a diet similar to that of the Mediterranean. putting an emphasis on vegetables that don’t contain starch, lean proteins, and foods with less carbs.

Following the first six-week phase, the goal is to maintain this healthy diet by according to the maintenance plan shown below.

The strategy of fasting just every other day

If you have tried and been successful with other diets like the 5:2 diet, you could find that this one is the one for you. It comprises replacing all meals on alternate days with the weight reduction products from Optifast, or having two consecutive days consisting of nothing but weight loss products from Optifast, followed by five days of normal, nutritious meals.

I suppose this is somewhat less difficult than following a diet that completely eliminates meals. On alternating days, you are free to eat regularly while still maintaining a healthy diet!

Partial meal replacement plan

This, I suppose, might be seen of as more of a pick-and-choose sort of alternative.

If you like the cuisine you eat but are willing to change one or two of your daily meals, then this is an excellent option for you. You are able to have a substitute for breakfast and/or lunch while still maintaining your “normal” level of health by drinking tea.

Maintenance plan

This is essentially a healthy diet consisting mostly of vegetables that do not include starch, lean proteins, and minimal amounts of carbs. It is possible to assist you in keeping your current weight by substituting one meal each day, or even just a few meals here and there.

When you go on vacation, for instance, is one scenario in which you could find this useful. You may want to bring some substitutes with you for breakfast and lunch if you find that you are unable to eat as healthily in the evening. While you are still able to enjoy yourself, your calorie consumption and, thus, any vacation weight gain will be restricted as a result of this.

Tell me about your experience with the Optifast diet.

I began out with the goal of following the whole meal replacement plan for a full six weeks. To get me started on my weight loss journey, I believed I needed a little push. If I did this, I would end up with some rather significant loses. I had to give myself a little push to go back to the weight loss and size at which I was most comfortable.

How did I feel about the strategy overall?

I instantly recalled that since I like my food so much, switching up each meal on a daily basis would be too much for me to handle. Meal replacements ensured that I never went hungry, and the only time I felt the want to eat was due to psychological factors.

I was certain that the Optifast meal replacement products would provide me with all of the essential nutrients. They ensured that I would not go hungry, but more importantly, I was able to enjoy the company of my loved ones when we sat down to a proper lunch.

On day two, as a result of this reason, I decided to switch to the partial meal replacement. It was lot more to my liking, and I didn’t have any trouble getting along with it.

How did the different options for meal replacements taste?

Even though I was never a fan of shakes in the beginning, I found that the Optifast shakes provided a fast and simple method to begin each day. If you like the taste of protein shakes, you will probably enjoy them as well since the flavour is fairly similar.

Vanilla, chocolate, coffee, and strawberry are the four flavours that may be chosen from. The flavour of coffee, served ice cold with ice cubes, was without a doubt my top choice. It has a flavour that is pretty comparable to that of iced coffee. Ideal for you if you are the kind of person who chooses a cup of coffee over a full meal.

If you want to make the shakes more interesting, I found that popping the vanilla ones in an infusing drinks bottle with things like mint helped make them more interesting. However, I kept forgetting to take photos of them to share, and it appears that the grocery store has run out of fresh mint at this point.

When cooled in the refrigerator, the Vanilla crème has a flavour and texture that is comparable to that of custard. Although it does not have the same mousse-like texture as Angel Delight, it has a flavour profile that is comparable and is an excellent option for replacing a sweet dinner.

I believe that the optimal flavour is achieved after chilling it for a further twenty minutes in the refrigerator, therefore I would suggest doing so. The sweetness keeps you going through the afternoon, allowing you to resist cravings for biscuits and other sweet foods. I thought that it was an excellent option as a substitute for lunch.

Optifast bars

The bars were undeniably my favourite item, since they did not have the flavour of typical diet food and were, in fact, quite similar to protein bars. They are an excellent option for replacing meals on the road since they are portable and surprise full.

It is recommended that you consume no more than one of the bars each day, and as they are intended to take the place of a meal, you should not consume them in the place of a snack. The cappuccino and berry flavours were my favourites out of the bunch. Both are absolutely delicious!

If you’re always on the move and have little time for lunch, they are a great alternative to having a smoothie for breakfast.

optifast soup

Meal replacement soup

Instant soup is often not something I like eating, and I much prefer making my own from scratch whenever possible. Because of this, it took me some time to get acclimated to the soups that come with the Optifast weight reduction programme.

Consuming them as soon as possible after making them is something I would strongly advise. They are of the cream-soup kind and are reconstituted with warm rather than boiling water. They cool down quickly, which is unfortunate since cold soup will never live up to the savoury qualities of hot soup.

creating an Optifast shake

Putting together the substitute meals.

I had no trouble putting together the sachets since the directions were clear and easy to understand and follow.

It is much simpler to combine the ingredients for the drinks if you use the Optifast shaker, which is why I strongly advise you to do so. You can always make it the consistency of a slush by adding ice cubes and blending it, even if you don’t like it when it’s prepared according to the directions.

One possibility is to flavour the vanilla Optifast shake with a few strawberries, a couple of mint leaves, and a few squeezes of lemon juice. It’s a winning combo all around.

Would I suggest Optifast to a friend?

Yes! Before I tried the Optifast diet, I will admit that the concept of following a diet that consisted entirely of meal replacement shakes and bars never appealed to me. Trying to imagine what it would be like to be hungry and to restrict my food intake in order to lose weight. Something that you all are well aware goes against my very nature.

The flexibility offered by the diet that just replaced some of my meals was considerably more appealing to me than the option of replacing all of my meals.

On the other hand, I can see how a long-term planned strategy might be ideal for some people who have a greater need for structure and a more detailed plan to adhere to. Following my strategy, I can declare without a doubt that I did not have any feelings of hunger.

Based on my previous experience, the option of replacing some of your meals would be one that I would strongly encourage. In particular for someone who is always on the go.

Making a shake, which can be done quickly and easily even while you’re on the move, or grabbing a bar is a far healthier option than buying a sandwich.
